Country Singer, GA Native Colt Ford Hospitalized After Heart Attack

Per media reports, the 53-year-old country music artist is in stable condition following a heart attack after a show.

MESA, AZ — Country artist and Georgia native Colt Ford was hospitalized Thursday after suffering a heart attack following a performance at Dierks Bently's Whiskey Row in Arizona, per media reports.

The 53-year-old Athens native was admitted into the intensive care unit at a Mesa hospital, 9 News reported, citing Ford's spokesperson. TMZ reported Ford is in stable condition.

He was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in 2022, per media reports, but it is unknown if the autoimmune disease caused the heart attack.

Shortly after news broke of Ford's hospitalization, reactions began pouring out through social media.

Brett Myers, singer and former MLB pitcher, took to X to ask for prayers for Ford.

"Say a prayer for my good buddy @coltford," Myers wrote.

Ford, whose real name is Jason Farris Brown, is known for his blend of country music and hip-hop.

Billboard reported Ford first debuted in 2008, when he co-wrote "Dirt Road Anthem" with Brantley Gilbert. Performed by Jason Aldean, "Dirt Road Anthem" later became a No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hit three years later.

Other Billboard accolades included five consecutive top 10 debuts on the Top Country Albums chart, with 2012’s "Declaration of Independence" opening at No. 1. His album, "Thanks for Listening," peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Rap and Independent chart and entered the top 10 on the Billboard 200.
