• Woman arrested after starting fights in Athens dive bar (classiccitynews.com) — Police recently arrested a Winder woman after a late-night disturbance that escalated into fights at Mell’s Place, a longtime bar on Atlanta Highway in Athens. Officers say she was removed from the bar, later found nearby, and charged with disorderly conduct after an argument over a vulgar note allegedly led to multiple altercations.
