1 Dead, Security Guard Injured In Shooting Outside Up Lounge

A 25-year-old Douglasville man has been identified as the fatal victim of the early Sunday morning shooting in midtown Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA — One person was killed, and two others including a security guard injured, in a shooting outside the Up Lounge in midtown Atlanta early Sunday morning. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has identified Frederick Demor Asberry, 25, of Douglasville as the fatal victim of the triple shooting, according to a WSB-TV Atlanta report.

It was a fight inside the lounge at 150 Pine St. NE that led to the shooting around 4 a.m., WSB-TV reported. Customers who were involved went outside and shots were exchanged, including one from an Atlanta police officer who was working as a security guard at the club. The police officer was not injured, the WSB-TV report states.

A 33-year-old man has been hospitalized in critical condition and a 30-year-old man who was also shot has been treated and released.
