1 Killed, 2 Injured In Early Morning SE Atlanta Shooting

ATLANTA — Police are investigating a triple shooting early Wednesday morning near Atlanta’s Lakewood neighborhood.

Around 1:15 a.m., officers responding to a different call in the area of Richmond Circle in southeast Atlanta heard a barrage of gunshots nearby, Officer Steve Avery said.

They arrived at the intersection of Sawtell Avenue and Charleston Avenue to find a wrecked vehicle with three men inside suffering from gunshot wounds, Avery said.

One of the victims was already dead. The other two were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries, according to police.

Investigators were not immediately able to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting and the victims were not identified. This is an ongoing investigation.
