As residents try to stay cool, they may also attempt to remain dry as isolated to scattered thunderstorms were anticipated Tuesday afternoon and evening in the north and central Georgia regions.
Gusty winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall could accompany the storms, according to the NWS outlook. The chance for daily storms appears to remain higher than 50 percent most days.
The NWS reported widespread severe weather could be at a minimum, but a few storms could be strong to severe. The agency's forecast calls for rain and possible thunderstorms daily through Monday.
