2 GA Health Care Facilities Among ‘Great Hospitals In America’

The "Great Hospitals in America" list from niche media company Becker's Healthcare includes accomplished Georgia hospitals.

GEORGIA — Five hospitals in Georgia are among 100 of the best in the country, according to a new national report.

The “Great Hospitals in America” list from the Chicago-based niche media company Becker’s Healthcare, includes many of the same hospitals as rankings of U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, The Leapfrog Group and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

“These hospitals are widely recognized for their clinical excellence, commitment to patient safety, innovative initiatives, research efforts, education and high levels of patient satisfaction,” the company said.

Becker’s said the list of 100 hospitals is not exhaustive and is not an endorsement of the included hospitals. Hospitals submitted nominations and Becker’s editorial team conducted research.

  • Northside Hospital, various locations. With 2,178 beds, Northside has locations in 25 Georgia counties. Among its specialties are newborn deliveries, cancer care, sports medicine, cardiovascular and surgical services. Healthgrades has given Northside the "Outstanding Patient Experience Award" and Newsweek has named the system on its “World's Best Hospital,” “Greatest Workplaces for Diversity” and “Greatest Workplaces for Women” lists.
  • Emory University Hospital, 1364 Clifton Road NE in Atlanta. This 500-bed hospital specializes in tending to acutely ill adults and one of the top hospitals for cardiology and cardiac surgery, oncology, transplantation and the neurosciences. U.S. News & World Report deemed Emory University Hospital the No. 1 hospital in both Georgia and Atlanta for 2024-25; and additionally, Emory received a comprehensive stroke center certification from the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
