2 Injured In Atlanta Officer Involved Shooting, GBI Investigates

Two men were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital​ with injuries after an Atlanta police officer discharged his weapon​ Wednesday.

ATLANTA, GA –– Two men were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with injuries after an Atlanta police officer discharged his weapon Wednesday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The injured men have been identified as Kenneth Gilbert, Sr., 56, and Kenneth Gilbert, 29.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was requested by the Atlanta Police Department to investigate the officer involved shooting. Preliminary information indicates that APD officers encountered two individuals in a vehicle near the intersection of Moreland Avenue SE and Arkwright Place SE.
