ATLANTA — Police are investigating a pair of fatal shootings in southwest Atlanta over the weekend.

On Friday around 8 p.m., police were called to investigate a double shooting in the 2500 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. Officers arrived to find that a man was killed and a woman was injured, police said. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries.

Upon investigation, police said an apparent dispute began involving the woman and two men which escalated and one of the men pulled out a weapon and opened fire.

All parties involved knew one another and investigators are working to identify the suspect, police said.

In a second homicide case, police officers were flagged down around 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Altoona Place. The officers found a man shot to death at the location.

Investigators have identified all parties involved in the incident and are working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing in both cases, police said.
