2 Winning Powerball Tickets Sold In GA; Jackpot Swells To $1.7B
Get your tickets! A lucky winner could score an estimated $1.7 billion in the upcoming Powerball drawing, and here's what to know in GA.

Two lucky lottery players in Georgia have won $1 million after matching the five white-ball numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing.
The winning tickets were sold at Pharr Food and Gas, 345 Pharr Road NE in Atlanta, and Commerce Tobacco Outler, 407 S. Elm St. in Commerce.
The winning numbers were 3, 16, 29, 61 and 69. The Powerball was 22, and the Power Play was 2x. Nobody matched all six numbers, leaving an estimated $1.7 billion up for grabs in the next round.

The next Powerball drawing is at 11 p.m. Saturday. To be considered in that drawing, tickets must be purchased by 10 p.m. Saturday.
The last time a jackpot-winning Powerball ticket was sold in Georgia was in October 2024. An anonymous player took home a cash prize of $230.6 million.

The $1.7 billion jackpot is the third-largest in U.S. history. The largest jackpot was a $2.04 billion top prize in 2022, followed by a $1.765 million jackpot in 2023.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball number are 1 in 292.2 million, according to the Multi-State Lottery Association. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 24.9.
In addition to the Georgia Lottery Corporation's website, Georgia tickets can be purchased via a lottery machine at businesses, such as Publix and Kroger, or the Georgia Lottery app.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play and an additional $1 for the Power Play option.
Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. More than half of all proceeds from the sale of a Powerball ticket remain in the jurisdiction where the ticket was sold.
Since its first drawing in 1992, the Powerball game has helped generate more than $36 billion for good causes supported by U.S. lotteries. including Georgia education.
