2025 GA Thanksgiving Grocery Deals: Extra Gravy Or Slim Pickings?

Grocery retailers across Georgia and the U.S. are introducing a range of holiday dinner deals. See where.

As Thanksgiving approaches, grocery retailers across Georgia and the U.S. are introducing a range of holiday dinner deals - but not all feasts are created equal.

President Donald Trump has claimed in recent days that costs for the Thanksgiving meal are down 25 percent this year, citing a prepackaged basket from Walmart.

“I just saw that Walmart came out with a statement last night, they've done it for many years, that Thanksgiving this year will cost 25 percent less than Thanksgiving last year,” he said during a news conference on Friday with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

While Walmart's 2025 meal basket costs about 25 percent less than the one from 2024, that's because it offers fewer items and different products that make it more affordable. This year's includes just 15 items compared to last year's 29, and the amount of each item varies.

Grocery prices are 2.7 percent higher than they were in 2024, but the cost of a 10-person Thanksgiving meal has fallen 2-3 percent since last year, according to a recent report from Wells Fargo, depending in part on whether customers go for national name brands or cheaper store labels.

It includes: a whole frozen turkey (14-16 pounds), turkey stuffing, chicken broth, super sweet corn, baby carrots, whole berry cranberry sauce, sweet jewel yams, Idaho potatoes, turkey gravy, French sliced green beans, cream of mushroom soup, crispy french-fried onions, brown and serve rolls, traditional ready-to-bake pie crusts, pure canned pumpkin puree and original whipped topping.

Sprouts Farmers Market

Preorder for Sprouts holiday meals and party trays is available until noon, Nov. 25. Meals range from $49.99 to $129.99 and have a maximum order of two per customer.

The meals feed two to six people, depending on the package. For the highest cost, customers can receive a fully cooked organic turkey, organic stuffing (30 ounces), organic mashed potatoes (32 ounces), organic turkey gravy (24 ounces) and organic cranberry sauce (14 ounces).

Additionally, with code 25FREENOV, customers can get free delivery on online orders $35 or more until Monday, according to the grocer.

Publix

Customers who wish to snag a complete Thanksgiving dinner from Publix have until Nov. 24 to do so. About 3-15 people can feast on the dinners, depending on the package.

Dinners vary but can include a turkey, plantains, rice, sweet sliced ham or spiral sliced brown sugar ham, mojo pork, cornbread dressing, marshmallow delight, homestyle gravy, cranberry orange relish and homestyle Yukon gold mashed potatoes.

Target

The big box chain is offering a holiday meal for four at under $20 with turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, French bread and corn — but no dessert.

Walmart

Walmart's Thanksgiving offer includes several national and private brand items — including a Butterball turkey for $.97 per pound, its lowest price since 2019 — as a one-click basket serving 10 people for less than $40. Shop the meal here.

Aldi

The bargain grocer is promoting a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 at $40. This offering does include dessert — specifically, ingredients for pumpkin pie — as well as a larger turkey than Target’s (14 pounds vs. 10 pounds), rolls, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, ingredients for sweet potato and green bean casseroles and stuffing.

Amazon

The e-commerce giant is promising dinner for five at $25, with a deal running Nov. 12-27 that allows customers to shop online, in-store or with same-day delivery in eligible areas, according to Consumer Affairs. A pie comes with the offer, and turkey is priced at 69 cents per pound, Consumer Affairs reported, adding that to access the promotion, shoppers can search “Thanksgiving meal” on Amazon’s website or via Amazon Fresh.
