4th Of July GA Weather Forecast: Showers, Storms Possible
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for GA before Independence Day weekend.
GEORGIA — Temperatures over the July Fourth holiday weekend in the metro Atlanta area will be in the 20s and there's a chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday through Monday, forecasters said.
Heavy, gusty thunderstorms in the Atlanta area are likely Friday morning through Monday night, according to AccuWeather.
“During late June and early July, with the days being so long and resulting in many hours of heating from intense sunshine, any thunderstorm that erupts can become severe for a short time,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Bandon Buckingham said.

Thunderstorms are possible Friday morning and evening, the National Weather Service said. There's a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. It’ll be partly sunny, with a high near 86 degrees, and a low of 71 degrees, the weather service said.
And on Sunday, there’s a chance of more thunderstorms and showers all day with a high of 87 degrees and a low of 72 degrees. There’s a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday, partly sunny, with a high near 88 degrees and a low of 72 degrees, the NWS said.
