1. These Are The Winners Of GA's Restaurant Awards (patch.com) — Atlanta’s culinary scene took center stage as the Georgia Restaurant Association announced its 2025 GRACE Award winners at the Georgia Aquarium. Buckhead Life Restaurant Group, Mary Mac’s Tea Room, Atlanta Fish Market and other metro restaurants earned top honors, while industry leaders with deep Atlanta ties were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
   

2. Police Shooting Investigation Active In GA (patch.com) — An active investigation is underway after a police-involved shooting Thursday afternoon in the 6000 block of Lockridge Drive Northwest in Atlanta, according to Gwinnett County Police. Authorities have not yet released details on possible injuries or fatalities, and residents are being urged to stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available.
   

3. Austell postal worker arrested for stealing rewards cards from mail (fox5atlanta.com) — A postal worker assigned to the South Atlanta Sorting and Delivery Center has been charged with financial transaction card fraud after investigators say she stole AT&T rewards cards from customer mail. Austell police link the alleged thefts to routes she worked this fall, and residents who suspect missing mail are urged to contact the USPS Office of Inspector General.
   

4. Atlanta airport expecting 5.3 million holiday travelers (wsbtv.com) — If you’re flying through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport this holiday season, expect record crowds, with 5.3 million travelers projected between Dec. 19 and Jan. 4. Airport officials urge arriving two to three hours early, checking ATL’s website for parking and wait times, and using online tools to reserve parking and track flight updates.
   

5. Cross Keys High School is among three metro Atlanta schools that increased their graduation rate this year (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Cross Keys High School, serving a largely Hispanic student body in metro Atlanta, has boosted its graduation rate from 64.4% to 72.3%, enough to come off the state’s “needs improvement” list. Two other metro Atlanta schools and five additional DeKalb County schools also exited state support designations after focused planning, credit recovery options, and wraparound services for struggling students.
