ATLANTA — Police are investigating a multiple shooting early Labor Day morning outside of a west Atlanta nightclub.

Around 6 a.m. officers were called to the area of Proctor Street and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard where patrons from Marquette Lounge ran to report the shooting.

Officers determined that five people were shot and injured following an altercation that occurred at the Marquette, police said. Some of the victims were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance while others went in private vehicles.

The suspected shooter fled the scene, police said.
