ATLANTA, GA — Georgia has a set of new license plates in an effort to put "America First."

The Georgia Department of Revenue is now offering a license plate commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary, which was released on New Year's Day.

“As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, this commemorative plate offers Georgians a meaningful way to recognize our nation’s founding and the pivotal role our state played in it,” Georgia Revenue Commissioner Frank O’Connell said in a past news release. “We are especially proud that the design reflects the talent and engagement of Georgia’s students, whose creativity connects our Revolutionary past with the next generation of civic leaders.”

Additionally, weekend media reports say Peach State drivers will have more options with the following plate designs: "Selfless Service," "America First" and one honoring Georgia State Parks. A bass conservation plate is also available, WANF-TV reported.

Georgia Sen. Steve Gooch (R-Dahlonega) initiated the "America First" license plate in honor of the United States. The Georgia Senate passed Senate Bill 507 in March 2024 to implement the new plate.

At the time, the Senate said proceeds from the license plate would benefit Georgia's general fund.

"This license plate represents the tangible expression of patriotism and putting the needs of our country at the forefront," Gooch said in a past news release. "It provides Georgians with an opportunity to express their national pride, and underscores the importance of emphasizing domestic concerns like economic stability, national security, strong borders and the protection of the rights of our citizens. I eagerly anticipate traversing the State of Georgia and witnessing fellow Georgians proudly celebrating our nation.”

The "America First" license plate comes with a $90 price tag, WANF-TV reported.
