Police Shooting Injures Man In Union City (patch.com) — Residents in the Atlanta area are learning more about a police shooting that left a 24-year-old man injured at a Union City apartment complex on Buffington Road. State investigators say Union City officers fired after encountering the armed man behind a front door, sending him and two stressed but physically uninjured officers to local hospitals. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will turn its findings over to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for review.
   

2. Passengers recount terrifying landing after tires blow during landing into Atlanta, show busted tires (11alive.com) — A LATAM Airlines flight from Lima blew multiple tires while landing at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Tuesday evening, leaving shaken passengers describing a violently rough touchdown and damage inside the cabin. Travelers reported broken bathroom doors, loose panels, and intense heat while they waited to deplane, with photos showing partially melted, shredded tires. Officials say everyone was safely off the aircraft as crews investigated.
   

3. Police searching for suspect in multiple break-ins at childcare center on Atlanta's Westside (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Atlanta police are searching for a man accused of repeatedly breaking into Little Leaders Academy on the Westside, stealing electronics and supplies worth more than $20,000. The owner says the crimes have shaken families’ sense of security, and is urging neighbors to help by contacting the center or calling the Atlanta police tip line with any information.

Atlanta drivers react to new Georgia law cracking down on car booting (atlantanewsfirst.com) — Atlanta drivers are adjusting to a new Georgia law that tightens rules on car booting, capping fees, requiring faster response times, and mandating clearer parking signs. Residents from Buckhead to the BeltLine share stories of surprise boots and long waits, while state regulators now oversee stricter standards for booting companies starting in 2026.
   

5. Man shot in the neck near Atlanta package store (wsbtv.com) — Atlanta police are investigating after a 29-year-old man was shot in the neck Tuesday night on Jonesboro Road near the M&S Package store. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where officers say he arrived alert, conscious, and breathing. Investigators have not released a motive or suspect information, and the shooting comes just a week after a deadly incident at the same store.
