APD Arrests Suspect In Murder Of Woman

Police say the woman was found bleeding with stab wounds to her neck, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Police Department arrested a man suspected of murder within 48 hours of the alleged crime, according to a Facebook post by the department. Wendell Ross was arrested and charged with the murder of Leslie Bell, who was stabbed to death, police say.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, police were called to a house on Willis Mill Road SW on a woman on the floor bleeding. Police arrived to find Bell laying on the kitchen floor with stab wounds to her throat.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Then, on Wednesday, police investigators found probable cause and got a search warrant for Ross' house.

Police say that Ross confessed to the murder during an interrogation.

He was taken into custody and to the Fulton County Jail, charged with murder.
