Police charged a 19-year-old man with murder in connection with the Feb. 25 shooting that halted I-75/85 morning rush hour traffic.

ATLANTA — Police have made an arrest in the shooting death that snarled Friday morning rush hour traffic on February 25.

Alphonso McCoy, 19, was arrested Thursday and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of 34-year-old Solomon Howard, police said.

Howard’s car crashed near the on-ramp from I-20 eastbound to I-75/85 on the morning of the 25th in Downtown Atlanta. Officers arrived around 5:20 to find Howard dead in the driver’s seat from at least gunshot wound. The ensuing investigation stopped traffic on the Downtown Connector for much of the rush hour.
