  1. According to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Atlanta has the highest income inequality in the country. According to experts, income inequality in this city is attributed to long-established racial disparities occurring for generations. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  2. An East Point woman confessed to police she set the East Point apartments on fire to cover up her daughter's death. Police arrested Nicole Jackson in connection with the house fire and the death of her four-year-old daughter. She faces multiple charges, including arson and murder. The Georgia Department of Human Services had previous encounters with Jackson, including in 2019, over possible neglect concerns. Authorities said they didn't believe the four-year-old was in imminent danger, so the case was closed. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  3. According to the American Automobile Association, gas prices continue to fall from a week ago. The downward trend is due to a decrease in oil costs. Georgia drivers now pay an average of $3.04 per gallon for regular gas — approximately $2.00 less per gallon than a month ago. (WSB Atlanta)
  4. Atlanta police are investigating a shooting which left one man in critical condition. According to officials, a man visited his ex-girlfriend in the hospital when he saw another man with her. An argument transpired, and the ex-boyfriend shot the man and has yet to be found. (Atlanta Patch)
  5. Atlanta investigators are asking for the public's help finding two suspects involved in a violent robbery over the weekend. The theft occurred at Metro Food Mart on the 1300 block of Metropolitan Parkway. The suspect is said to have entered the store, smashed multiple gaming machines with a sledgehammer, and demanded cash from the clerk. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
