Atlanta Parents Charged In Death Of Infant With Cocaine In His System
Two Atlanta parents face charges after their 2-month-old baby died with cocaine in his system, police said.
ATLANTA, GA — An Altanta mother and father have been arrested and charged with murder and cruelty to children in connection with the death of their 2-month-old son, police said.
Officers found the baby unresponsive on September 20, 2021, at an address on Fairburn Place. The baby was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hugh Spalding Hospital, police said. Cocaine was found in the baby's system, officials said. Police arrested Robert Williams and Makaylee Nevils on Wednesday.
Nevils told police that she and Williams went to sleep around 9 a.m. and when at 11:30 a.m. the infant wasn’t breathing, WSB-TV reported.
