Atlanta Streets Alive and Great Bicycle Parade Return
ABC's third Atlanta Streets Alive event will take place on a three-mile route along North Highland, Highland Ave and Boulevard.

From 2-6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition (ABC) is inviting Atlantans to walk, bike, skate or roll on three of Atlanta’s popular streets for an afternoon.
ABC’s third Atlanta Streets Alive event of 2016 will take place on a three-mile route along North Highland, Highland Ave and Boulevard. The streets will be closed to cars, opening for people to explore the route on foot or on bike, and the free family-friendly activities along it.

A few of the at-event activities, hosted by community organizations and businesses, include:
- Virtual bike-share hubs by Relay Bike Share
- Live poems in the street
- BMX tricks on rails and ramps
- Coloring stations for kids and adults Battle Frog Obstacle Course
The event kicks off at 2 p.m. with the Great Bicycle Parade. People of all ages are invited to participate in the bike parade. Details on meeting location and theme available here: https://www.facebook.com/events/147843742318825/.

ABC is inviting local businesses and community organizations to get involved. Businesses along the route can extend onto the sidewalk by setting up cafe tables or displays (sign up available here: atlantastreetsalive.com/september16_business_partner). Any organization or group can host one of the many free activities along the route as an “Activity Partner” (details here: atlantastreetsalive.com/activity). Sponsors of the September 25th event include the City of Atlanta, Atlanta Department of Parks & Recreation, MailChimp, New Belgium Brewing, Zegi, Kronberg Wall, GA Bike Law, Custom Signs Today, Whole Foods, LÄRABAR, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Alternative Apparel.
When: Sunday, Sept. 25, 2-6 p.m.
- 2 p.m.: Opening remarks by Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, director of the Mayor's Office of Sustainability at City of Atlanta; District 9 Council Member Alex Wan; and others.
- 2 p.m.: Kick off of the Bicycle Parade, with hundreds of kids and adults riding the route.
- 2-6 p.m.: Approximately 100,000 expected attendees fill the car-free streets to enjoy miles of free family-friendly activities
