Atlantan Andrew Suggs says he may have been the first person in history to play 'The Star Spangled Banner' on his electric guitar at the Grand Canyon. Suggs' YouTube video shows him, complete in his Brian McCann Atlanta Braves jersey, in a rockin' July 4 celebration.

"I took my Gibson Les Paul Goldtop and Vox AC30 to the Grand Canyon to pay homage to our nation by performing the national anthem," Suggs said. "I plugged straight into the amp and turned it all the way up!

"I'm from Atlanta so I had to rep my city and my Braves while at the canyon," Suggs, who is the brother of former Georgia Tech quarterback Andrew Suggs, wrote.

Suggs is yet another connection to a city that dominated many of the nation's July 4-related headlines. On July 4, the 50th running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race took place, with several world-records falling in one of the nation's signature July 4 events. The race brought 60,000 participants in the world's largest 10K race.
