- New restaurant stalls are coming to the new Lee and White complex's food hall in West End. Eateries announced include The Original Hot Dog Factory, Gekko Sushi, Mochinut, Pastaholic, and Honeysuckle Gelato. The food hall could open as early as the end of this year. (Eater Atlanta)
- Atlanta resident Sabra Airall received a water bill in January 2022 that totaled $9,615.01. After noticing increases, Airall said she tried to get the Atlanta Watershed Management to review her complaints without any luck. After a deeper investigation into the issue, it was uncovered that the woman's ID numbers on her meter had been crossed with the meter next door. (CBS 46 News)
- The 2021-2022 Georgia Milestones student assessment released results yesterday. Atlanta Public Schools are continuing with the Academic Recovery Plan they implemented at the beginning of last school year due to the pandemic. The assessment showed that 31.2 percent of students in grades three through nine tested proficient or above in English language arts, and 26 percent tested the same in math. A few features of the recovery plan include extra time for students in class, a focus on literacy and math, and student progress monitoring tools. (Metro Atlanta CEO)
- Atlanta's industrial real estate market is leading the nation. According to research from Cushman & Wakefield, the city's industrial tenants took over 11.7 million sq. ft. of industrial space in the second quarter of 2022. To compare, Atlanta companies filled almost 50 percent more industrial space than the nation's second leader in the market, Chicago. (Bisnow)
- Georgia State University has been awarded a $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences. The grant will fund a four-year study focused on student outcomes and career and technical education. It will also help research teacher preparation and experience. (McDuffie Progress)
