Multiple GA counties are under a Level 1 risk for severe weather, meaning quarter-sized hail, wind gusts and a tornado could be troubling.

ATLANTA, GA — Here comes another week of rainfall in Georgia, which is expecting isolated severe storms that could produce hail or a brief tornado Monday.

The storms are predicted to arrive before 10 p.m. Monday in the north and central regions, though some portions of metro Atlanta experienced early morning showers.

The area was under a Level 1 marginal risk for severe weather, though not widespread, according to the National Weather Service.

Damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph, a brief tornado and a burst of hail up to a quarter size could travel with stronger storms, the NWS predicted.
