- The Georgia Department of Education will be offering career training courses for the state's elementary students. The new Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) training courses were announced yesterday and will begin with a pilot program next fall. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
- Atlanta is in the running to host the 2024 Democratic National Convention. The DNC is expected to make its decision between Atlanta, New York, Chicago, and Houston by early next year. If Atlanta is chosen, the convention will be held at State Farm Arena. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- The Atlanta Police Department Homicide Unit shared updates on two open cold cases yesterday. It's been one year since Katie Janness' murder at Piedmont Park and 17 months since David Mack, 12, was found dead in the woods by his home. Watch the video update here. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Atlanta school districts are getting creative to try and increase their pool of substitute teachers. Fayette County Public Schools offered substitute positions to school bus drivers to fill in between their routes and Clayton County is considering a similar program. Cobb County, Fulton County, and Marietta City Schools are increasing pay to attract more substitutes. (WABE 90.1 FM)
- The Atlanta Office of Veterans Affairs could be getting a new name. The Senate passed a bill on Wednesday that could change the name in honor of the late Sen. Johnny Isakson. Isakson's political career spanned more than 40 years in Georgia. (WSB Atlanta)
