Frost, Freeze Forecast In GA Due To Cold Front
Cold air will plunge temperatures days after Georgia had high temperatures in the 80s, the latest weather forecast says.
GEORGIA — After warm and stormy weather, Georgia is now expected to freeze with a 40-degree temperature plunge.
Late Tuesday morning, Atlanta was a cool 53 degrees, but the National Weather Service forecast the metro could chill even further at nighttime. Tuesday's low temperature in metro Atlanta is expected to drop to 40 degrees.
The NWS attributed the colder weather to an airmass that came into Georgia following recent storms.

This comes merely days after sunny Georgia felt high and low temperatures in the 80s and 60s, respectively, and after rounds of tornadoes a week apart.

A second confirmed EF-1 tornado, nearly 8 miles long, touched ground in Bibb and Twiggs counties, the NWS reported.
