Clark Atlanta University Film Students Head To Paris

Students will study abroad to learn about shunned filmmakers

ATLANTA, GA -- About two dozen film students from Clark Atlanta University left Sunday for a trip to Paris to study the work of ostracized black French filmmakers.

The students will study "Invisible Identities of the African Diaspora," a course taught by CAU professor April D. Lundy, which explores the culturally significant works of shunned of black French filmmakers.

Among the students going to Paris for the first time is Aaron Reid, 22, a senior mass media arts major from Atlanta. “This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience while learning about foreign filmmaking at the same time,” Reid, who wants to start his own film production company, said in a statement. “Thanks to Clark Atlanta, I get to fully demonstrate my skill set while implementing all of the fundamentals CAU has instilled in me.”
