ATLANTA, GA — Travel on MARTA trains could be stunted Tuesday by COVID-19 effects on staffing, officials said Monday evening.

The impact from the surge in sickness caused by the highly-contagious omicron variant of the coronavirus has made its way to Metro Atlanta’s public transportation.

“Select train trips may be canceled because of staffing shortages, due to COVID-19,” MARTA officials said in a statement posted on its website and on social media. “Please allow extra time for your travel.”
