Delta To Hire 12,000 Employees Through 2020, Raises In Effect
Reports say the airliner is growing, with massive hiring on the way as well as wage increases for ground workers and flight attendants.

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta-based Delta Airlines is set to hire 12,000 employees through 2020, the company's CEO said, according to reports.
In an interview with CNBC's Squawk Box, CEO Ed Bastian lauded the company's growth.
"We're in the process of hiring 6,000 people this year and at least a like amount next year," he said.

Ground staff and flight attendants will see a wage increase too, Bastian said in the interview. The raise, at four percent, went into effect on Oct. 1
"We are hiring pilots, we're hiring flight attendants, we're hiring ground staff, we're hiring in all categories of the company," he said.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Bastian as saying in a conference call about a third of the hires are to replace retiring employees.
