Daily Storms To Drench GA As Temperatures Warm
Georgia is expected to be inundated with rainfall every day this week. See where and when the downpour could happen.
GEORGIA — April showers will make for a bumpy week in the Peach State. The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorms and showers daily through at least Saturday in or near metro Atlanta, Columbus and Savannah.
Weather officials say a stalled frontal boundary was expected push rainfall across north Georgia through Tuesday night.
The arrival of strong storms were anticipated Tuesday afternoon and evening, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. There were no threats for tornadoes, hail or damaging winds so far.

However, frequent lightning, gusty winds and heavy rain could be factors with the storms, the NWS reported.
The most significant chance for storms will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday, which showed a 50 percent probability.

The rainfall this week will pour on days that will welcome near 90-degree temperatures. The NWS reported the hottest days could be Friday and Saturday, when the high temperatures may be 88 degrees.
Georgia joins several other U.S. states in experiencing daily storms. AccuWeather reported day-to-day storms in the central U.S.

Today: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Tonight: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
Wednesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
