Flood Watch Continues For Metro Counties, North Georgia

Forecasters predict a chance of flash flooding and windy conditions as heavy rainfall continues to move across portions of Metro Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA – A flood watch remains in effect for much of North Georgia including most Metro Atlanta counties through Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters predict that heavy rainfall will continue across the region through 1 p.m. on Friday and warn of the chance for flash flooding as rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying bodies of water and areas are inundated with runoff.

With rain falling steadily since Thursday, the ground will be saturated and forecasters expect accumulation of one-half to one inch.
