Fulton County Schools Will Use New Threat Assessment Tool

The Fulton County Schools System will use a threat assessment tool to help schools measure a risk and how to respond.

FULTON COUNTY, GA — The Fulton County Schools System has created a threat assessment tool that will function as a road map to measure who’s a risk and how teachers and staff should respond.

The tool is organized by three levels. It will look at how much of a risk the threat is to others and what response is needed. For example, who should get involved? Police, a parent, or counselor.

Fulton County Schools System implemented the assessment tool in response to recent mass shootings in Uvalde and Buffalo. Metro Atlanta parents and teachers have said they want to see more proactive measures, reported WGCL-TV.
