SANDY SPRINGS, GA – Roadwork on Georgia 400 will shift all southbound lanes beginning Thursday night at 9 p.m.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is continuing its “Transform 285/400” project and on the evening of March 3, road workers will implement a mainline traffic shift southbound from north of Abernathy Road to south of Hammond Drive, state officials said.

The shift will encompass all four southbound lanes, and motorists are advised to proceed with caution, follow the markings on the roadway – which will include a new exit onto Hammod – and remain in their lanes as the road shifts out wide to the right, officials said. The temporary route modification is being done to allow construction workers to complete demolition work on the bridge over Abernathy Road, GDOT said.
