ATLANTA, GA — One of the best hotel restaurants in the country is located in Georgia, according to the online reservation service OpenTable.

Polaris, located at 265 Peachtree St. Northeast in downtown Atlanta, is Georgia’s top hotel restaurant with a 4.8 OpenTable rating and nearly 1,900 reviews.

Yelp reviewers reported that a meal ranges from $31 to $50 at the contemporary American establishment.

Dishes include tuna tartare, duck breast, wild mushroom ragu, sea bass, strawberry basil cheesecake, wagyu New York strip and spiced lamb. Beverages include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, whiskey and bourbon.

“Recently, hotel owners have seen the value in not only having restaurants as an amenity for their guests, but also in being a culinary destination for locals and even travelers staying elsewhere,” Chef Stephanie Izard of the Cabra–Chicago, Boka Restaurant Group told OpenTable. “Travelers have so many options of places to stay, culinary offerings are a big part of making that choice."

OpenTable and KAYAK consumer research surveys show 73 percent of Americans would book the same hotel again because of the dining experience in its restaurant. Among other findings:

  • 58 percent of Americans feel that hotel restaurant offerings have gotten better over time due to the quality of food (60 percent), atmosphere (57 percent), and service (56 percent);
  • 47 percent of Americans have booked a trip to visit a specific restaurant.; and
  • 45 percent of Americans have found themselves posting more about their restaurant meals than the sights on their trip.
