Georgia Gas Tax Suspension Bill Signed By Gov. Kemp
Gov. Brian Kemp has signed Georgia House and Senate bills suspending gasoline taxes until May that will save 29 cents per gallon.

ATLANTA, GA — Bills suspending gasoline taxes in Georgia were sent to Gov. Brian Kemp’s desk, and he has signed them.
The Georgia Senate voted unanimously to pass a bill suspending state taxes on gasoline through May, according to Georgia Public Broadcast.
Once voted into law, the measure could save Georgia drivers 29 cents per gallon on gas, Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan tweeted.

“We’re stepping up to the plate under the Gold Dome to make sure Georgians can keep their hard-earned dollars,” said Duncan, who leads the Senate.
The House passed a similar bill, also unanimously, last week.

Kemp's office said the bills reached his desk Friday and he signed them that afternoon, WXIA reported.
Noting the Russian invasion's impact on gas prices but also finding fault with the Biden administration, Kemp said in a statement announcing the signing of the bill, H.B. 304, that "we are doing our part to lessen the impact on your wallet."
He said the bill would "temporarily halt collection of the state gas tax and ease the burden consumers are feeling at the pump."
