Georgia Ranks Among Top 10 In U.S. Shark Attacks
Georgia ranks in the top 10 among states with the most shark attacks.

ATLANTA, GA -- Georgia ranks nationally among the states with shark attacks, according to data from University of Florida researchers. The state has had four shark attacks in the last decade, none of them fatal.
The most recent shark attack in Georgia was in 2014, when a 12-year-old boy was bitten while surfing off Tybee Island, just outside of Savannah.
Unsurprisingly, Florida leads the nation in shark attacks by a wide margin, even over Hawaii. The Sunshine State tallied 244 shark attacks since 2007, according to the UF research. Hawaii had 65 in the same period.
