Georgia Weather: Freeze Warning Added to Fire and Wind Threats
Fire warnings and a wind advisory had previously been issued for the region. Cold temperatures add new threat to weekend forecast.

ATLANTA, GA -- A busy weekend of weather alerts now has one more piling on: a freeze warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. Saturday until 10 a.m. Sunday. A wind advisory is in effect until midnight Sunday morning.
Temperatures will drop to between 3o and 35 degrees Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds will increase to between 15 and 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph.

"Protect tender vegetation and animals when freezing conditions are expected," warns weather service forecasters. "High winds could down trees and branches."
Tall trucks and tractor trailers should take particular caution, due to the winds.

Fire Threat
A red flag warning is in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday, followed by a fire weather watch Sunday.
Strong winds and very low humidity will cause any wildfires to spread rapidly this weekend, according to the weather service.
Residents should follow local burn ban regulations and use extreme caution where burning outside may be allowed.
Temperatures are expected to slowly increase as the week begins, with winds slowly moving out of the area.
