Georgians Have 2 Free Days To Fish Without A License This Month: DNR
You won't need a license to go fishing in Georgia waters on June 4 and June 11.
GEORGIA — Eager to go fishing but don't have a license just yet? No worries! The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has you covered.
To celebrate National Fishing and Boating Week, DNR is giving people two free fishing days to cast their lines into Georgia waters without a license Saturday and again on June 11.
"Time spent fishing and boating is a great opportunity to talk, laugh, relax, reconnect and create good memories with friends and family," DNR said on its website.

Typically, anglers age 16 and older must have a current Georgia fishing license in their possession when fishing in fresh or salt water in Georgia.
A fishing license, however, is not required to fish in private ponds nor by a resident and their immediate family when fishing on their land.
An annual fishing license for Georgia residents costs $15 and $50 for non-residents, according to DNR.
If you miss the two-free days to go fishing this month, Georgians will have another opportunity to do so. Georgia will also offer one additional free fishing day on Sept. 24, 2022 on National Hunting and Fishing Day.
