Gunman Drives Away After Fatal Shooting: Police

ATLANTA — Police are trying to determine why a man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in northwest Atlanta.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire near the intersection of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Bolton Road around 6 p.m., on Wednesday, police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said. They arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital. There he died, despite efforts to save his life, Grant said.

Homicide investigators are trying to learn the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
