Henry County Officers Return Home, Recovering After Being Shot

The officers were shot last week after responding to an unknown-trouble report at a Stockbridge subdivision.

STOCKBRIDGE, GA — Two Henry County police officers who were shot last week in a Stockbridge subdivision have been released from Grady Memorial Hospital. On Saturday, police said officers Taylor Webb and Keenan Merritt are both at home, recovering. The officers were shot while responding to an unknown-trouble call in Eagle Ridge late Thursday morning.

An hours-long SWAT standoff ensued that led into early Friday morning, when Anthony Tony Bailey, 47, of Atlanta, killed himself after shooting Sandra Renee White, 39, and her 16-year-old son, Arkeyvion White, to death.

Police said Sandra White was about 36 weeks pregnant. Her body was found in the garage, while her son's body was found in an upstairs bedroom. Bailey was found in an upstairs back bedroom.

SWAT teams fired several rounds of gas into the home in an unsuccessful attempt to get Bailey to surrender.
