Kolter Homes Expands Cresswind Lifestyle Program

Fitness

The Fitness cornerstone includes weekly fitness classes, nutrition classes, a focus on overall health and wellness and state-of-the-art fitness centers and equipment. At new Cresswind communities throughout the Southeast, such as Cresswind Georgia at Twin Lakes in Hoschton, Georgia, Kolter Homes is working with EGYM, a global fitness technology leader. The EGYM digital platform and Smart Strength training equipment are being integrated into the community’s new “Cresswind SmartFIT Training Center.” Kolter Homes is the first and only active adult home builder in the country to utilize EGYM technology at its communities.

“The Fitness cornerstone has always been a crucial component of the Cresswind lifestyle programming,” Mark LaClaire, director of lifestyle at Kolter Homes, said. “As we researched ways to make Fitness more accessible, easy and fun for all residents, we found technology to be the answer and EGYM fit the bill perfectly.”

EGYM provides a circuit of “smart” equipment; residents are given an EGYM wristband that connects them to each piece of equipment at each workout. As they move from each station in the circuit, the technology recognizes them and adjusts automatically to adapt to their personal workout needs so they can improve their strength and overall fitness.

Relationships

The Relationships cornerstone includes resident club formation, casual social gatherings, friendships, community outreach and volunteer opportunities. Cresswind residents enjoy both community-planned and resident-formed activities and events that foster the formation of relationships. To represent the community’s unlimited diversity, like-minded residents can form any type of club where they all share similar interests while also creating lifelong friendships.

Cresswind residents are also encouraged to engage in volunteer and community outreach programs outside of the community. According to LaClaire, helping others has been proven to dramatically increase the quality of life for individuals who feel useful and helpful to others.

Education

The Education cornerstone at Cresswind communities includes programming, activities, learning new hobbies and speakers that stimulate thought, ideas, discussion and lifelong learning. All based on resident interests, this cornerstone has evolved to include a variety of diverse and unique offerings such as art classes, music/instrument lessons, cooking classes and educational and motivational speakers on health issues, financial advice, local community issues and more.

Entertainment

The Entertainment cornerstone includes weekly diverse programming for residents to let loose, socialize and have fun at concerts, dances, comedy shows, happy hours and socials. Each Cresswind community’s onsite lifestyle director plans entertainment based off residents’ feedback, making each community’s activities unique to them. To cover all the diverse interests of residents, all types of entertainment are considered. Residents tend to most enjoy any entertainment that gets them up dancing, socializing or laughing, according to LaClaire.

Cresswind communities also host large outdoor concerts at least twice a year. Coordinated by LaClaire, these bigger events utilize popular tribute bands that cover artists such as Neil Diamond, Rolling Stones and The Beatles. These top-tier performers tour multiple Cresswind properties so many residents can enjoy more of a great experience.
