Local Breast Cancer Survivor Walks to Raise Awareness at Atlanta Komen More Than Pink Walk

Nahida Kadri is on a mission to inspire others during the Atlanta breast cancer walk in October

On October 25, Bank of America will support the 2025 Komen Georgia MORE THAN PINK Walk in Atlanta. Participants in the annual event raise funds for breast cancer research and life-saving programs.

Local Atlanta area resident Nahid Kadri, a breast cancer survivor and employee with Bank of America for more than 20 years, will join participants to raise awareness.

In 2018, doctors diagnosed Kadri with breast cancer. After undergoing surgery and five years of treatment, she is now cancer-free. Having lost her own mother at an early age, Kadri was determined to fight not only for herself but also for her children. She did not want her children to grow up without their mother.

Throughout her journey, Kadri found strength in her family and faith. Her daughter, a heart and kidney transplant recipient, inspired her resilience.

“Watching my daughter overcome so much gave me the courage to keep going,” Kadri said. “Faith was my foundation, and I want others to know that no one has to face this battle alone.”

Since 2019, Kadri has participated in the Susan G. Komen Walk each year alongside her husband and friends. Through the walk, Kadri has connected with fellow survivors and families affected by breast cancer, offering encouragement, and sharing her story to inspire others. For her the walk is more than a tradition, it is a mission to spread awareness and show survivors that they are part of a supportive community.
