Man Raped Woman At Gunpoint Near Atlanta Park, Police Say
Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman earlier this month near an Atlanta park.

ATLANTA, GA -- Police in Atlanta are asking the public to be on the lookout for a rapist in the Washington Park area of the city. Authorities said that on Sept. 4, the man sexually assaulted a woman in southwest Atlanta.

The man ambushed the woman, attacking her at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her, police said. It is unclear how or when the woman was able to escape.

The man was seen the next day walking into some apartments in the 1100 block of Mobile Street in northwest Atlanta, authorities said. Neighbors in the area said that they are concerned about the incident and will remain vigilant.
"I'm just going to try to be on the lookout," Tatiana Greer told WAGA-TV. "I'm just going to try to be on extra precaution," she told a news camera.

The perpetrator is described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 27 years old. He is about 5'10"-6' tall and a slim build, police said. He had on a black hoodie and a camouflaged drawstring backpack.
Police are asking if you know of someone in that area that fits the description to call Crime Stoppers at 404 577-TIPS(8477). All callers remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 if your info leads to an arrest.
