Here are the top five stories today in Atlanta:

  1. A man who performed a fake arrest after a car crash has been charged by the Atlanta Police Department. The incident happened on Sunday along GA 400, where 24-year-old Deondre Owens had joined the crash victim on the side of the road. According to officers, Owens told them that he first had chased down the other driver involved in the accident. Upon catching up, Owens donned a ballistic vest, handcuffs, and an AR-15 and arrested the driver. Owens has been charged with aggravated assault and fake imprisonment. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. A new Chipotle restaurant is coming to Cascade Road. Located near the Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, the freestanding restaurant will measure 2,330 square feet. The location will have a pickup window exclusively for online orders. There will also be an outdoor dining area available to customers. (What Now Atlanta)
  3. Atlanta has launched a new loan program to help local businesses acquire commercial property. The $3.5 million initiative, called the Atlanta Commercial Down Payment Assistance Loan Program, will offer businesses low-interest financing to qualified business owners. Small businesses can apply for a loan of up to 20 percent of the commercial property costs. More information is available at the link. (Reporter Newspapers + Atlanta Intown)
