Mayoral, City Council Candidates Scored Ahead Of Elections
Business and community organization Committee for a Better Atlanta rated candidates based on interview and questionnaire answers.
ATLANTA — How do candidates for the coming City of Atlanta elections stack up?
Committee for a Better Atlanta, the nonprofit coalition of business and community leaders aimed at improving the city, has an answer for voters with scores given to most of the candidates vying for seats in the Nov. 2 election.

The organization, which hosted this election season's first candidate forum in June, took answers from in-person interviews and questionnaires to compile numeric scores and rankings of “Excellent,” “Well-Qualified,” “Average,” or “Not-Qualified.”
The questions addressed issues considered key in the CBA’s policy platform, including public safety, economic development and recovery, affordable housing, and ethics and transparency, among others.

“These scores will empower Atlanta voters to make informed choices about the next leaders of (the) City of Atlanta,” said 2021 CBA Co-Chair Denise Quarles, who also serves as Southeast Region Head of External Affairs at Siemens. “As business leaders, our role is not to endorse individual candidates, but rather to provide voters with a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications and handle on local issues.”
Not all candidates participated in the interviews and questionnaires, however. Here are the results from the ones who did, listed in order of their score:
