ATLANTA, GA — The Mega Millions jackpot has ballooned to $740 million after the previous $681 million grand prize went unclaimed.

Georgia Lottery officials on Tuesday said the jackpot winner would have taken home $336.1 million in cash; however, lottery results show no one matched all six numbers in Tuesday's drawing.

The winning numbers were 12, 41, 43, 52, 55 and gold Mega ball 9. The Megaplier was 4x.

The $681 million prize stood to be the seventh-largest jackpot in game history if won, lottery officials said. The most claimed in Tuesday's drawing was $500.

Two players, one in Brookhaven and another in Commerce, were $10,000 winners in Friday's Mega Millions drawing, lottery officials said.

It was on June 4 that the Mega Millions jackpot was last won, lottery officials said, noting the prize was $552 million. Since then, officials said there have been 25 drawings in the Mega Millions jackpot run to date.

There are nine ways to win prizes, which range from $2 to the top prize, in the Mega Millions.

Tickets, which cost $2 per play, can be bought at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide or purchased via the Georgia Lottery app. Players can also buy tickets on the Georgia Lottery's website.

Prizes can be multiplied with the Megaplier option, which costs an additional $1 per play. A $3 feature affords participants two plays solely for the jackpot prize.

Once a prize is won, players have 180 days from the draw date to claim it. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays in Atlanta.

Lottery officials said the overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 24, and the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.

Proceeds from the Mega Millions go toward Georgia education, lottery officials said. Since its inception, the Georgia Lottery has given more than $28.3 billion to Georgia education, officials said.
