Mercedes-Benz Stadium Partners With New Atlanta FinTech Firm
Atlanta-based Global Payments edges out NCR as the point-of-sales provider for Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

ATLANTA — A new tech firm will replace point-of-sales giant NCR at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Atlanta Chronicle’s Eric Jackson reports that Atlanta-based Global Payments Inc., has inked a deal with AMB Sports and Entertainment, the company that manages the stadium, to become the official financial technology provider.
In a news statement announcing the partnership, which will begin in the first quarter of 2022, Global Payments promised to bring “its expertise in restaurants, food service management, and sports venues to help solve the complex challenges of a multi-channel commerce ecosystem all housed within a few million square feet.”

That Global Payments beat out the much larger Atlanta-based NCR is a coup. And the stadium looks to capitalize on the new provider’s robust bank of resources, AMBSE chief Tim Zulawski told the Atlanta Chronicle.
“[Global Payments] is the biggest sleeping giant in Atlanta,” Zulawski said. “It may not resonate today for people who talk about other Fortune 500 companies in this market, but (one day) they will. And that’s our job through our partnership.”
