“Georgia’s state capital isn’t lacking in spendy steakhouses and sublime seafood spots, but those in the know say Bacchanalia is the place to go for a once-in-a-lifetime meal. This fine dining staple has been wowing diners with its four-course prix fixe menu since opening in 1993, and it has a solid reputation for dazzling dishes made with organic ingredients from its own farm. The menu clocks up at a pricey $125 per head, but it’s so worth it to feast on dishes like the slow-cooked lamb with eggplant and olive. If you really want to push the boat out, there’s a caviar service, too.”
Bacchanalia, 1460 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW Suite 1, had a 4.6 Google rating Thursday morning.
One Google reviewer expressed visiting the white-tablecloth restaurant for an anniversary dinner. The person scored Bacchanalia with fives across the board for food, service and atmosphere, and noted the eatery’s lack of a wait time.
“The cuisine was exceptional. We have always been fond of farm-to-table restaurants, as nothing tastes fresher than seasonal vegetables, especially when they are sourced from the restaurant's own farm. Their services are exceptional, as well. There was some bread left on the table that I felt bad about discarding, so I asked to have it boxed; they handed me a "coat check ticket" for picking it up on the way out. I liked the hassle-free service; it was nice and avoided the embarrassment of carrying stuff through the restaurant. When we checked out and picked up the leftover bread, the front desk lady asked if I would like some more bread; they packed it nicely at the front desk, ready to go. How nice! It exceeded my expectations; it's exceptional service, truly Southern hospitality. The atmosphere was remarkable. The combination of farm style and contemporary warehouse-converted space created great appeal and vibes. We will definitely return for dining more frequently,” the reviewer wrote.
Another reviewer also praised Bacchanalia’s food, service and atmosphere, giving the restaurant top ratings. Parking was plentiful, and the staff accommodated the person’s allergies, according to the reviewer.
“This was my first time eating at a Michelin-star-winning restaurant, and it was spectacular. The service was amazing, the atmosphere classy and the food flawless. The mushroom and souffle were top notch,” the reviewer wrote.
Both reviewers reported spending at least $100 while dining at Bacchanalia.
