Murder Suspect Arrested In Atlanta Police Chase: WATCH

Police released body camera footage in connection with the arrest of a murder suspect in Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA — Officers have arrested a murder suspect after a recent chase in Atlanta, police said Monday.

The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Election Day, in the 3800 block of Campbellton Road Southwest, Atlanta Police said, releasing body camera footage in connection with the incident.

Officers say they tracked the suspect, who police identified as Tremeico Quncell Watson, in a silver 2017 Ford Fusion near Melvin Drive Southwest.

They then tried to conduct a traffic stop on Watson, but police said he quickly fled through a residential area. Officers then pitted the Ford, causing it stop near Camp Ground Road Southwest, police said.

Watson then ran but was shortly arrested on charges of felony fleeing, reckless driving and obstruction, police said. An APD warrant charging Watson with homicide was active against him, police said.

A gun was recovered from the vehicle, and a passenger was taken in for questioning, police said.

Watson will be taken to the Fulton County Jail after the homicide investigation, police said.
