Is Nike Eyeing Atlanta As A Regional Hub?

ATLANTA — Is Atlanta a good business hub for Nike?

A recent report by Atlanta Business Chronicle development reporter Donnell Suggs suggests that the global athletic apparel company is testing the waters in Atlanta’s commercial real estate market.

“Nike could be seeking 15,000 square feet to 20,000 square feet for a regional office that could employ up to 100. It hasn't had a corporate office in Atlanta for years. The possibility of an expansion comes as several West Coast firms bolster their presence in Atlanta,” Suggs writes.

Like many top-tier West Coast-based companies recently (see Airbnb, Google, or Microsoft) venturing into Atlanta and the surrounding metropolitan area, Midtown is an option for the Beaverton, Ore. sports footwear firm.

In addition to Atlanta, Nike is reportedly exploring an expansion into Chapel Hill, N.C.
