- According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, an armed man — still in his public safety uniform at Grady Hospital — was shooting at a driver on I-20. The officer, Alfred Stevenson Watkins, was arrested for shooting at another car; however, no one was injured. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is investigating Mary Lin Elementary School after allegations the principal was assigning students to certain classes based on race. The department is also investigating whether the school district retaliated against the complaint sent in 2021 by parent Kila Posey saying Black students were placed in separate classrooms from other classmates based on race. - Houston police have arrested a man for the murder of Atlanta-based rapper Takeoff. Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, has been charged with murder. The incident occurred at a private event in a bowling alley on Nov. 1. (WSB Atlanta)
- Police are working to identify skeletal remains found in a wooded residential area earlier this week in DeKalb County. According to authorities, the remains belonged to a man between the ages of 18 and 30 who had been dead for about six months. The cause of death has yet to be released, but police are investigating the incident as a homicide. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
- Police are investigating a fatal shooting near the C&S Food Mart in Atlanta's Greenbriar neighborhood. Officials do not know the victim's identity or what caused the shooting. (11Alive.com WXIA)
